Australia has secured qualification for the Paris 3x3 Olympic tournament.

Australia’s women’s 3x3 team has confirmed its spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics, following its tournament victory in the Universitality Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Utsunomiya, Japan.

The Gangurrus took down 2022 AmericCup champions Canada in the final, with Anneli Maley earning tournament MVP honours.

The Paris Olympics will be the first time Australia will be represented in 3x3, following the format’s introduction to the Games at the Tokyo Olympics.

“I’m so, so proud of us,” Maley said following the tournament win.

“As a group we work so hard and, as a group, this was our only shot. We don’t get to go on the tours and to comes out here and play the way we did, I’m so, so proud.”
