Next Stars combine for key test

Five NBL24 Next Stars will be given the opportunity to impress at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine later this month.

Touted as a consensus top-three pick and potentially the number one overall selection by many experts, Alex Sarr will be one of 78 players looking to push their case in Chicago from May 12-19.

The NBA announced today that 78 players have been invited to the 2024 NBA Draft Combine, which will take place from May 12-19 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago.

Joining Sarr are Bobi Klintman, Trentyn Flowers, AJ Johnson and Ariel Hukporti from this year's batch of Next Stars.

Klintman is currently projected to land at pick 17 by The Athletic’s draft experts, while Johnson is at selection 40.

Sports Illustrated has Flowers’ name being called at pick 41, with Hukporti and Mantas Rubstavicius both considered likely draft selections by the league’s experts. 

Rocco Zikarsky won’t be draft eligible until the end of the NBL25 season, while Alex Toohey is contracted for the Kings and will no doubt take more massive strides in his development, if he’s overlooked in this year’s Draft. 

The NBA Draft will be held on June 27.
