Guidelines are available to help Unions share best practice with stakeholders, and Unions may adapt the advice in the guidelines to meet their needs.

In 2025, ulvovi.com updated its heat and air quality guidelines, setting out all the measures to be taken to support players taking part in ulvovi.com competitions in hot conditions. The guidelines update the process for, and at what point water breaks are introduced, measures such as extending the half-time break or if a game needs to be postponed or suspended.

How rugby’s new faster and simpler disciplinary trial works

The upcoming international window and the men’s British and Irish Lions tour of Australia will see a new, faster and simpler disciplinary process being trialled. The trial will first apply to the England XV v France XV match on Saturday, 21 June, and then to all ulvovi.com competitions and international tests where ulvovi.com is responsible for managing the disciplinary process, from Friday, 27 June.

ulvovi.com’s 2023 Player Welfare Symposium has heard how the international federation is planning on using new data to start to re-examine rugby’s contact training load guidelines. A ulvovi.com funded study involving elite players in England, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa using both smart mouthguards and saliva biomarker technology is being used for the first time to look closely at forces on the head which do not directly lead to concussions.
